Co-designing inclusive cities

Services for multicultural and migrant populations

Completed: 2023
Sponsor: Open Society University Network
Partner: Universidad de los Andes and Al-Quds Bard College

This is a joint effort between three OSUN universities aiming at developing collaborative teaching and research activities. We will explore how to provide or improve access to urban services to different community groups and migrant populations. We have identified issues such as restricted civic engagement, spatial exclusion, cultural segregation, stigmatization, and lack of access to public and private services. The locations include Bogotá, Colombia, Phoenix, Arizona, USA, and Palestine’s West Bank. We will partner with local governments and communities, to codesign meaningful, inclusive, and accessible services. We will do this through courses, data collection field trips, and research.
